Three things we'll ask

Houses vs. towers

In a house (Victoria Park, Rio Vista, Coral Ridge and the canal streets), we work at your front or side door directly — often a standard deadbolt that picks cleanly. Rio Vista, platted in 1916 with 1920s Mediterranean Revival houses, and Victoria Park, laid out in the 1920s, both have arched and odd-sized doorways where an old lock has been swapped more than once (Republic Window & Door). In a tower (Downtown, Las Olas, Galt Mile), timing depends on the building: a front desk may need to log us in, and some buildings only allow vendors with a certificate of insurance. Call the desk first — many managements hold a key to each unit, and that can be the free option. See condo & high-rise locksmith.

Behind a guarded gate (Bay Colony or Sunrise Key, for instance), the guard has to know we're coming. Add us as your visitor the way your community asks, using our business name and the technician's from the text.

How the door gets opened

  1. Picking or a bypass tool on standard residential locks.
  2. On a keypad lock with flat batteries: the backup key or the emergency battery contacts.
  3. Drilling only for high-security or broken locks — and only after you hear the cost of the replacement and say yes.

If the keys are gone for good

Opening the door doesn't stop whoever has your keys. A rekey on the same visit is $50 per extra lock, with 2 new keys handed over.

If you say no

Hear our on-site number, turn it down, and the bill is zero. A door we can't open without harm, where you veto the drill, means no opening fee. Calling it off while we're still driving costs nothing. Money changes hands only once you're inside and the lock works, by card, phone wallet, Zelle or cash.

Questions about lockouts

My lock works only with a fob — can you still help?

If the unit door has a key cylinder or override, yes. If the building's access system is the problem, management controls it.

Do I have to be there?

Yes — the person who lives there, with something that proves it.

How soon can you get here?

Count on roughly 20 minutes to reach any Fort Lauderdale address; the call confirms it. A tower on the Galt Mile or downtown may add a few minutes at the front desk.

What's included in "from 110"?

Opening a standard residential lock without drilling, plus the trip. All prices.
