Safe Opening in Fort Lauderdale
A Fort Lauderdale safe with a forgotten code, a dark keypad or a lost key can usually be opened right where it stands, and often with no drilling at all. Because safes differ so much, the price is set on the phone once you've described yours, and it doesn't change at night.

What sets the price
Most home safes come to $150–$350, quoted by phone, because a small keypad safe in a closet and a heavy dial safe bolted to a floor are different jobs. The things that move the number:
- The lock type — electronic keypad, mechanical dial, or key.
- How it's built — a light fire chest and a burglary-rated safe are worlds apart.
- Whether drilling is needed, plus the repair and any new lock afterward.
- Getting it there — a safe on the 20th floor of a tower may mean a freight elevator and a front-desk sign-in; that's time, not a surcharge. The total is given before the van leaves, and repeated before any drill comes out.
Tell us
- Brand and rough size (look for a sticker on the door's inner edge or the rear panel)
- How it locks: dial, keypad or key
- What happened: forgotten code, keypad dark or beeping, key lost, handle won't turn
- A photo, by text to (954) 998-6919
How we open safes, step by step
- Description and photo — we set the price and tell you if it's one we can't help with. In Fort Lauderdale condos and houses that means gun safes and home safes, dial or keypad, from SentrySafe, Liberty, Cannon, Fort Knox and the like, plus the small safes behind shop counters; walk-in vault doors are not ours.
- Ownership check at the door, before tools come out.
- Keypads: power and override options first — many "broken" safes just have dead batteries.
- Dial locks: manipulation where the lock allows it.
- Key locks: picking or decoding.
- Drilling: a last resort, at a precise point that can be repaired — and only with your agreement.
- Back in working order: combination reset, keypad or lock replaced if needed, and a quick lesson on changing the code. If we drilled, the hole is closed with a hardened plate.
If we can't get in without drilling and you'd rather we didn't, you don't pay for the opening.
Other safe work
- Keypad replacement on electronic safes
- Bolting a safe to the floor or a closet wall
- We don't move safes — a moving company handles that
Who we open safes for
Only for the owner, who shows a purchase receipt or ID at the same address, or is standing there with us. For a safe that came with an estate, bring the probate paperwork. Hotel and vacation-rental safes only at the property manager's request.
Safes in Fort Lauderdale homes
Close to half of the homes here are condo and apartment units in large buildings (NeighborhoodScout), so many of the safes we see sit in a bedroom closet several floors up. If the building logs vendors in, tell the desk we're coming — the condo page explains how that usually works.
With around 3,830 active Airbnb listings in the city (AirROI), an in-room safe left locked by a departing guest can hold up a turnover. Hosts: we come at your request, and you can set the safe's master code with us afterward — see vacation-rental hosts.
Broward's hurricane guide gives the season as June 1 through November 30 (Broward County). If your passports and policies live in a safe, open it once in May, change the batteries, and make sure someone else knows how to get in.
Questions
Do you open gun safes?
We do, once you've shown it's yours.
What does a safe opening usually cost?
Most home safes land between $150 and $350; you get the exact figure by phone after describing yours, and it's the same at night.
Will the safe still work afterwards?
When we get in without drilling, it nearly always does. If drilling was needed, we seal the drill point and fit a new lock when the old one can't be saved.
The keypad beeps but won't open. Is the safe broken?
Probably not. Weak batteries often light the keypad but can't move the bolt. Many models have an outside battery terminal or an override key — check the manual before calling.
I inherited a safe and nobody knows the code. Bring the estate papers or the executor's letter; we open it with an heir or the executor present.
